Poster Analysis Worksheet-National Archives
This worksheet is a great way for students to analyze posters. Posters may seem very simple, they do not have much text and are mostly images, but they can contain a wealth of information if one knows how to analyze it properly. This worksheet goes step by step on how to analyze a poster. It asks students to look at the color scheme, the imagery, and symbolism of the poster. It asks about the audience the poster is intended for, if it is issued by the government, and what the government’s intention for creating the poster were. This would be a great tool when looking at wartime propaganda posters because it creates a clear way for students to analyze the content of a poster to derive meaning from it.
